
Ingredients:
• 8 slices bread- cut each slice into quarters
• 3 – eggs beaten
• 2 cups – Milk
• 4 tbsp – Sugar
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• 2 tsp – vanilla extract or essence
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1 tsp -ground Cinnamon
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F). Lightly butter a suitable oven proof dish.
- Line the bottom of the pan with the bread. Spread well so that the bottom is covered completely.
- Mix the eggs, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla together in a large bowl. Pour this egg mixture over bread. Let it stand for 10 mins till the bread soaks up almost all the mixture. Dot the top with the butter. Mix 1 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon powder and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 25 to 30 mins or until top is nice and golden and a little crunchy.
