Ingredients:
• 2 cups of Rice
• Capsicum- 2 big or 3 medium sized (cut into small cubes)
• Green peas-1/2 cup
• Coconut Powder – 1/2 cup
• Chana Dal or Gram – 1 tbsp
• Mustard Seeds or Rai -1/2 tbsp
• Jeera or Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
• MTR Sambar powder – 1 tbsp
• Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsp
• Salt to taste
• Finely chopped coriander or Cilantro for garnishing
Method:
- Wash the rice thoroughly, cook it, and keep it aside. In a deep vessel, put oil, and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and chana dal.
- When the dal is slightly brown, add the capsicum pieces and cook for 2-3 minutes; then add peas.
- When cooked properly, add sambar powder, coconut powder, and salt; mix well and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add precooked rice to this mixture, taking care that the rice has cooled. If you add hot rice, the grains get mashed and it becomes sticky.
- Garnish with coriander or cilantro and serve hot with curd or yogurt.
