Ingredients:

• 1/4 kg – medium-sized Catfish
• 3 Cloves – Garlic
• 1-inch piece – Ginger
• Handful – Coriander leaves
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 cup – Coconut scrapings
• 1 – Tomato cut into slices
• 1.5 – Onions
• 1/2 tsp – Tamarind pulp
• 2 tsp -red chilli powder
• Salt to taste
• Oil – 3 tbsp

Method:

  1. Cut fish into 1-inch pieces and add 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder and a little salt; then keep it aside to marinate for some time.
  2. Grind coconut, coriander powder, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and one onion.
  3. Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, and add the finely cut onion; fry it till it becomes translucent.
  4. Then add a little turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
  5. To this, add the masala with a little water.
  6. Add the tamarind pulp to it, and stir constantly. Once this is added, add the fish pieces to it.
  7. Cook till done and garnish it with coriander leaves.
