
Ingredients:
• 500 g – chicken, cut into medium size pieces
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1 bunch Spring onion or 2 onions, finely chopped
• 6 Cloves garlic, chopped
• 1/2 inch piece ginger, chopped
• 1 tsp – thick Tamarind paste / 3 tsp Tamarind juice ( optional )
• 100 ml – water ( 1/2 cup )
• 1 packet ( 70 g ) – Maggi kicap rempah
Method:
- Wash and clean chicken pieces. Drain out water thoroughly.
- In a wok / kadai / frying pan, heat oil. Add finely sliced spring onions or onions and fry till light golden colour.
- Add chopped garlic and ginger. Saute for 2 – 3 minutes.
- Add maggi kicap rempah and 1 cup ( 100 ml ) water and bring to boil.
- Add chicken pieces and 1 tsp tamarind paste or juice ( optional ). Cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat for 30 – 35 minutes or until done and gravy thickens.
- Serve hot with noodles / fried rice / rotis.
