Ingredients:

• 1 kg – Chicken
• 3 – Onions
• 1 piece – Ginger
• 5 Cloves – Garlic
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1″ stick – Cinnamon
• 4 – Cloves
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1 tsp – salt
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• a handful of Coriander leaves
• 1/2 cup – Tamarind extract

Method:

  1. Soak the tamarind in warm water.
  2. Make a paste of the ginger and garlic.
  3. In a vessel, heat oil and add the bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, chopped onions and turmeric. Fry until brown.
  4. Add the ground paste and fry it brown
  5. Add the chicken pieces, chilli powder, salt and tamarind juice.
  6. Cook the chicken until it’s tender.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
