Ingredients:

• 1 can – canned mackerel in Tomato sauce
• 1 – onion, medium sized chopped finely
• 2 – green chilli, sliced lengthwise
• ½ – chopped green pepper
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 inch – Cinnamon stick
• 1/4 tsp – Methi seeds
• 1/2 tbsp – oil
• salt as required

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a wide pan, add cinnamon and methi seeds.
  2. Now add onions and green chilly, keep stirring till the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Add the mackerel, spice powder, green pepper and salt and mix well.
  4. Cover the pan and cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat.
  5. If you want it dry, cook the fish until all the water gets absorbed.
  6. Serve warm with rice or bread.
