Ingredients:

• 3 – Tomatoes
• 2 – onions, chopped
• 1 – Green chilli slit
• 1 spring – Curry leaves
• A pinch – mustard
• A pinch – cumin
• A pinch – asafetida
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – roasted white sesame seeds
• 4 tbsp – Coconut Milk
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash and blanche tomatoes and peel off the skin.
  2. Chop tomatoes, removing the seeds.
  3. Toast sesame seeds, grind to a fine powder and keep aside.
  4. Heat a pan with oil, splutter mustard, cumin, curry leaves and green chilli.
  5. Add asafoetida, onions, salt and fry till they turn slightly pink. Do not brown the onions
  6. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, fry for 3 to 4 mins, cover and cook till the tomatoes turn fully mushy and soft
  7. Add red chilli powder and fry for a min or 2
  8. Add sesame seed powder, mix and fry for a min
  9. Pour coconut milk. Mix well. Simmer for a min or 2.
  10. Serve.
