Ingredients:

• 1 cup – moong dal
• 3 cup – water
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seed
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tbsp – chopped Ginger
• 3 – Green chillies
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1 – Onion
• 2 tbsp – chopped Carrot
• 2 tbsp – Green peas
• 1/2 cup – Cabbage
• Coriander leaves – a bunch
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Grind ginger and green chillies to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard and cumin.
  3. Then add onion, the ground paste and stir well until golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Finally, add the remaining vegetables and moong dal with 3 cups of water and salt.
  6. Cook until done.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with chapattis or naan.
