Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – Rice
• 1/2 inch – Ginger
• 6 pods – Garlic
• 1 bunch – Coriander leaves
• 1 tsp – salt
• 4 – Green chilli
• 2 – Onion
• 1/2 inch – Cinnamon
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1 pod – Cardamom
• 1/4 tsp – Saunf
• 6 tsp – oil

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and keep aside. Add two glasses of water to it and let it soak.
  2. In a blender, grind ginger, garlic, green chilli and coriander leaves to a fine paste.
  3. In a cooker, heat oil and add the cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon and saunf and fry till they splutter.
  4. Add chopped onion, fry till it becomes transparent.
  5. Add the ground paste, fry till the oil separates.
  6. Add the soaked rice and close the lid of the cooker.
  7. After 2 whistles, switch off the stove and serve.
