Ingredients:

• 1 cup – masoor dhal
• 3 – Onions sliced
• 3 – Tomatoes chopped
• 1/4 tsp – Garlic paste
• 1/2 tsp – Ginger paste
• 1 tsp – pepper power
• Salt to taste
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1 piece – Cinnamon
• 3 – Cloves

Method:

  1. Cook the masoor dhal with the 4 cups of water together with the ginger and garlic paste, onion, pepper powder, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves and salt till soft.
  2. Remove and cool well.
  3. Grind in a blender and strain through a sieve.
  4. Add a little more water if the soup is too thick.
  5. Add the butter and serve hot with rolls or croutons.
