Ingredients:
• 200 gm – dates, seedless
• 100 gm – Apricots
• 100 gm – Mango (aam) papad cut into small pieces
• 150 gm – Jaggery
• 1 tbsp. – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 Bay Leaf
• 1 inch piece – Cinnamon
• 1/2 a Star anise
• 2 Cardamoms
Method:
- Heat 200 ml water, add the whole spices and boil for 2-3 mins.
- Reduce heat and mix in the dates (cut into halves), apricots (also cut into halves) and the aam papad pieces. Continue to boil over low heat for at least 7-8 mins.
- The dates should retain their shape but feel tender to touch. Add the chilli powder and the jaggery (broken to small pieces).
- Stir till the jiggery melts and add sugar. Stir and cook till the desired consistency is reached.
