Ingredients:

• 200 gm – dates, seedless
• 100 gm – Apricots
• 100 gm – Mango (aam) papad cut into small pieces
• 150 gm – Jaggery
• 1 tbsp. – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 Bay Leaf
• 1 inch piece – Cinnamon
• 1/2 a Star anise
• 2 Cardamoms

Method:

  1. Heat 200 ml water, add the whole spices and boil for 2-3 mins.
  2. Reduce heat and mix in the dates (cut into halves), apricots (also cut into halves) and the aam papad pieces. Continue to boil over low heat for at least 7-8 mins.
  3. The dates should retain their shape but feel tender to touch. Add the chilli powder and the jaggery (broken to small pieces).
  4. Stir till the jiggery melts and add sugar. Stir and cook till the desired consistency is reached.
