Ingredients:
• 1 cup tur dal or masoor dhal
• 1/2 tsp mustard
• 3 big tomatoes, chopped
• 2 tsp crushed Garlic
• 2 tsp chilli powder
• 2 Red Chillies broken into bits
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• Few Curry leaves
• 1 tsp cumin powder
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
Method:
- Wash dal and cook along with the tomatoes, turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and 3 cups of water in a pressure cooker.
- When the dal is cooked, mash well, add the salt and a little more water if required.
- In another vessel, heat oil and add the smashed garlic, mustard, red chillies and curry leaves.
- When the mustard splutters pour in the cooked dal and mix well.
- Serve with rice.
