Ingredients:

• 10 – fish pieces (Katla or Rohu)
• 1 cup – Curd
• 2 – Onions (big, sliced)
• 2 – Bay Leaves
• 2 – Dried red chillies
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala powder (green cardamom, Cinnamon and cloves)
• refined oil for frying
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• salt to taste
• Coriander leaves to garnish

Method:

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and salt and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add the bay leaves and dried red chillies. Now fry the onions until brown.
  3. Add a little sugar, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and stir.
  4. Add 3/4 of the curd and keep stirring until the oil leaves the masala.
  5. Add the fish pieces to the mixture.
  6. Cook on high flame until the fish is done. Add salt.
  7. Garnish with the remaining curd and chopped coriander leaves.
