Ingredients:

• 1 l – Milk
• 1 tbsp – basmati Rice
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• a few strands of Saffron
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1/8 tsp – Nutmeg powder
• a few slices of Almonds and Pistachios

Method:

  1. Apply a little ghee to the inner surface of a vessel with a thick bottom. Boil the milk in it.
  2. Wash the rice. Apply a little ghee to the rice so that the grains do not stick to each other. Pour in the boiling milk.
  3. Continue boiling the milk on low flame, stirring in between.
  4. When the rice in the milk is fully cooked, add sugar.
  5. Boil till the required sweetness is attained.
  6. Add saffron, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and slices of almonds and pistachios. Serve hot or chilled.
