Ingredients:
• 100g – dried shrimps
• 4 – dry Red Chillies
• 1″ piece – Turmeric
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• a little Tamarind
• salt to taste
• 1 – fresh coconut, scraped
• 3 tbsp – cooking oil
• 1 – medium-sized onion, sliced
Method:
- Broil the shrimps on a tava, stirring all the while.
- Put the shrimps on a board or flat plate and press with a piece of cloth.
- Remove the cloth and clean all the burnt parts.
- Grind the chillies, turmeric, cumin seeds, and tamarind into a paste.
- Add the shrimps and mix well.
- Add the scraped coconut and mix.
- Slightly grind the mixture in a mixer until the ingredients blend.
- Heat oil in a flat pan.
- Fry the sliced onion and add to the chutney.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Add salt
