Ingredients:

• 1 kg – dudhi
• 300 g – Sugar
• 1 litre – Milk
• 10 tbsp – Ghee
• 10 Cardamoms (powdered)
• 15 to 20 strands Saffron (soaked in 1 tbsp Milk for few minutes)
• 8 to 10 sliced Almonds for garnishing

Method:

  1. Wash and grate the dudhi .
  2. Squeeze out the water from the grated dudhi.
  3. Lightly heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel and fry the dudhi on a medium flame, till ghee separates.
  4. Add milk, powdered cardamoms and saffron.
  5. When the mixture is fairly dry, add the sugar and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Place the vessel on a preheated tava and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Garnish with sliced almonds.
