Ingredients:

• 2 lbs – Chicken (breast Meat or leg quarters with bones)
• 2 – medium onions, sliced
• 4 tbsp – curry powder (or 2 tsp – cumin powder, 2 tsp – coriander powder, 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder, 2 tsp – chilli powder)
• 8 – Curry leaves
• 2 tbsp – Olive oil
• 3 – Cloves
• 1/2 inch – Cinnamon stick
• 1 cup – yogurt
• 1 – Tomato
• 2 tbsp – Lemon juice
• 1/2 cup – coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

Method:

  1. Cut the chicken into medium-sized pieces, clean, and add salt and the curry powders and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil, fry the sliced onion, cloves and cinnamon stick.
  3. When onion turns golden, add the chicken, curry leaves and saute for a couple of minutes.
  4. Then add yogurt, tomato and stir a few turns and add 2 cups of water and lemon juice.
  5. Cook till chicken is tender, add salt to taste, garnish with coriander leaves.
