Ingredients:

• 1 kg – Chicken
• 1 – large Onion
• Salt to taste
• 2tbsp – Ghee
• 5 – dry Red Chillies
• 3 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1 tbsp – Fenugreek seeds
• 1 tbsp – Poppy Seeds
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 3 – Cloves
• 3 – Cardamoms
• 4 – sticks of Cinnamon
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – water
• 2 – eggs
• 1 tbsp – Turmeric powder
• For marinade:
• 6 tbsp – Garlic paste
• 1.5 tbsp – Lime juice
• 1 tbsp – Ginger paste

Method:

  1. Marinate the chicken with the ground marinade paste for 30 mins.
  2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  3. Add chopped onion, dry red chilli, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves. Fry until light brown.
  4. Add marinated chicken pieces. Fry for 3 mins.
  5. Mix turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar, poppy seeds and fenugreek seeds and garam masala with 1/2 cup water. Add it to the chicken.
  6. Fry for 3 mins until water evaporates.
  7. Add sufficient water and pressure cook.
  8. When done, keep on low flame and thicken the gravy.
  9. Add salt and sugar to taste.
  10. Serve hot garnished with boiled egg slices.
