•
Method:
- In a small bowl, add the active yeast, sugar and salt in lukewarm water, give a stir and keep aside. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it turns foamy.
- Take the all-purpose flour, ragi flour and melted butter in another large bowl.
- Gradually add the foamy yeast to the flour and knead into a dough.
- Dust the dough with enough flour and knead for a few minutes until it turns soft.
- Arrange the dough in a greased bowl and let it sit for two hours in a warm place.
- Once the dough doubles in volume, sprinkle some flour and knead again for a few minutes.
- Flatten the dough with a rolling pin, brush the butter over the flattened dough and sprinkle sugar, cinnamon powder and frozen chocolate chips over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly as a loaf.
- Slice the dough into 8-9 thick slices.
- Arrange those slices over a greased square baking mould.
- Cover with a plastic wrap and let them sit again for an hour until they double in volume.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Arrange the baking pan in the middle rack and bake the uncooked rolls for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden brown.
- Let them cool.
- Mix the confectioner’s sugar with a few drops of water to form a thick paste and drizzle over the rolls before serving.
