Ingredients:

• 300 gm – flour
• 125 gm – castor Sugar
• 200 gm – chilled Butter
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• To decorate: 2 tbsp – castor Sugar
• Edible food color

Method:

  1. Mix flour, sugar and spice in a bowl.
  2. With your fingertips, rub diced butter into the flour.
  3. When the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, knead it into a soft dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface until smooth.
  5. Wrap the dough in paper and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll on a floured surface till 1/8 inch thick.
  7. Cut and arrange on a baking tray.
  8. Chill for 10 minutes.
  9. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 170 degree C for 10 minutes or until golden.
  10. Dip each biscuit into plain or coloured sugar and cool before storing in an airtight tin.
