Ingredients:
• 20 – Prawns
• 1 – Tamarind (lime size)
• 1 -Tomato (big)
• 20 – Shallots
• 5 – Garlic Cloves
• 1 cup – Potatoes (cubed)
• 1 cup – Raw banana (cubed)
• 5 – Drumstick pieces
• 2 tbsp – Dhania powder
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 3 tsp – Gingili oil
• 1 tbsp – Vengaya Vadagam
• Salt (as per taste)
• 5 – Curry leaves
Method:
- Grind the tamarind with tomatoes in 1/2 cup of warm water.
- Make a thick paste and strain the paste.
- Add sufficient water to it.
- Heat oil in a kadai and splutter vadagam.
- Add the garlic cloves, curry leaves and shallots, fry until onions turn translucent.
- Add drumsticks, raw banana pieces and saute.
- Add prawns and put stove on low flame.
- Add salt, dhania powder red chilli powder to the tamarind-tomato juice.
- Add this spiced juice to the vegetables and prawns, cook on high flame.
- Once it boils add the potatoes to this gravy.
- Cover and let it cook for 10 minutes.
- Switch off the stove.
- Serve hot with rice.
