Ingredients:
• 6 – medium mackerel
• 1 cup – freshly grated Coconut
• 3 tsp – chilli powder
• 3 tsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 2 Cloves – Garlic
• 1 tsp – Peanut oil
• Salt to taste
• 8 pieces – sour cocum
• 1 tbsp – freshly copped coriander
Method:
- Marinate fish after rubbing with salt for about 45 mins
- For curry: Take the freshly grated coconut, add red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric, and grind it to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
- Wash the salted fish thoroughly
- In a pot, heat 1 tsp of peanut oil, add garlic. Once it is brown, add curry paste with 3 cups of water
- Add all the pieces of fish to it, add 8 pieces of cocum and 2 tsp of salt
- Cook the curry for about 20 mins on a medium to high flame
- Add freshly chopped coriander before serving
- Serve it in a bowl with curry and couple of pieces of fish, garnish with fresh leaves of coriander along with hot basmati rice
