Ingredients:
• Ingredients for fish patties :
• 1/2 lb – king fish, cut into 1-inch slices
• 1 – medium-sized white Onion
• 2 – eggs
• 1 tsp – pepper powder
• 1 tbsp – Lemon juice
• a handful of Coriander leaves
• 4-5 – Mint leaves
• 1.5 tsp – shaan tandoori Chicken BBQ mix
• 3 – green chillies, chopped
• 1/2-inch – ginger, minced
• 1 slice – bread, soaked in water
• Salt to taste
• Oil, for shallow frying
• Ingredients for Tomato gravy:
• 3 – big red tomatoes, diced
• 4 – small onions/shallots
• 2 – whole Red Chillies
• a pinch of Sugar
• Salt to taste
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds for seasoning
Method:
- Boil or steam the fish and remove all the bones.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients for fish patties and knead to a smooth paste.
- Take a handful of the mixture and make a ball.
- Very gently, flatten it into a 2-inch patty.
- Repeat the process for the rest of the mixture.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick skillet over low heat.
- Slip in the patties, a few at a time, and shallow-fry on both sides till crisp golden brown.
- For the gravy, heat 1 tsp oil, add 2 red chillies and saute.
- Add the shallots and tomato; shallow fry for a minute or so.
- Add salt as required.
- Keep aside and let cool.
- In a blender, add this mixture with a pinch of sugar and blend it to a thick creamy gravy.
- For seasoning, heat 1 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds.
- Once it starts spluttering, add the seasoning to the tomato gravy and mix well.
- Serve the fish patties with this rich and creamy tomato gravy .
