Ingredients:

• 2 cups – water
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• 1 cup – Oats
• 1 cup – chopped peeled Pears or chopped Apple
• 1/4 cup – dried cherries, raisins, or snipped Dates
• 1/8 tsp – ground Cinnamon
• 1/2 cup – skim Milk

Method:

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in oats, peaches or apples, raisins, and cinnamon.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat. Cover and let it stand for 2 minutes.
  4. Divide the oatmeal into 4 bowls.
  5. Pour 2 tbsp milk over each serving.
