
Ingredients:
• Dry peas – 1 cup (soaked overnight )
• Tamarind paste – 2 tbsp
• Salt – to taste
• For Roasting:
• Half Coconut – grated
• Red Chillies – 6 to 7 or even more
• Coriander seeds – 2 tbsp
• Split black Gram (urad dal) – 1 tbsp
Method:
- In a hot pan, roast all the ingredients for roasting till golden brown, without adding oil.
- Grind without adding any water. Keep aside.
- Pressure cook the peas for 2-3 whistles. In a vessel, transfer the cooked peas.
- Add water if it is too thick. Add the ground masala with tamarind paste and salt.
- Boil for 10 to 15 min. Remove from fire.
- Serve hot with rice and dal as a side dish.
