Ingredients:

• 500 g – plain flour/maida
• 1 tsp – salt
• 250 g – Butter or margarine
• 5 tbsp – water
• 250 g – cheese, shredded
• 1 tbsp – pepper powder
• oil for frying

Method:

  1. Sift the flour, salt and pepper powder together.
  2. Empty into a bowl and add butter and cheese. Mix lightly with a fork.
  3. Now add water bit by bit until the flour is moistened and forms a ball (add a little more water if required).
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll out into a rectangle shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into 3-inch strips.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and Deep Fried the strips golden brown.
  7. Drain and serve.
