Ingredients:

• 2 kg – gooseberries (the star variety)
• 3 kg – Sugar
• 1/2 kg – raisins, minced finely
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon powder
• 1 tsp – Nutmeg powder
• 3 liters – boiled and cooled water

Method:

  1. Lightly crush the gooseberries.
  2. Mix all the ingredients together and store in a porcelain jar for 21 days stirring it every day.
  3. Strain the wine on the 22nd day.
  4. Add caramelized sugar to get the desired colour and bottle it.
  5. This wine should be used within a month.
