Ingredients:

• 1 cup – green gram dal
• 10 – pearl Onions
• 2 – Tomato
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• asafoetida, a pinch
• curry leaves, small quantity
• coriander leaves, small quantity
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 1 tsp – black gram dal
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Fenugreek

Method:

  1. Wash and soak green gram dal in water and place in cooker, adding 3 cups of water with 1 tsp turmeric powder, asafoetida and a tsp oil.
  2. Chop onions, tomatoes and keep other ingredients ready.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal, red chillies, curry leaves and add onions followed by tomatoes.
  4. Fry them well.
  5. Now add boiled dal to it.
  6. Add some salt and mix them well.
  7. Allow it to boil for 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
