Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – dry Green peas
• 15 – Jackfruit seeds (cooked)
• 1 – Onion (chopped)
• 1 – Tomato (chopped)
• 3 – Green chillies (slit opened)
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 – Bay Leaves
• 1 tsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves (chopped)
• Salt
• Oil
• To grind:
• 1 tsp – peppercorns
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Fennel seeds
• 1/4 cup – grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp – Poppy Seeds

Method:

  1. Soak the dry green peas overnight and cook in hot water with salt until half cooked, drain the excess of water and keep aside.
  2. Grind all the ingredients in the list into a fine paste and keep aside.
  3. Heat enough oil in a kadai, add the bay leaves and fry until they turn brown.
  4. Add the chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and saute everything.
  5. Add the half cooked green peas, jackfruit seeds, turmeric powder and add the grounded paste to the kadai, cook everything on sim for a few minutes.
  6. Add coriander powder, garam masala powder, and cook with the lid closed.
  7. Add enough water to the kadai and cook on medium flame for a few minutes. Add coriander leaves.
