Ingredients:

• Cottage cheese – made from 2 liters Milk
• 100 g – khoya
• Lemon juice or Curd whey
• 1/4 tsp – gulabjal (rose water)
• 1/2 tsp – green Cardamom (powdered)
• 1 tbsp – Chironji
• 100 g – Sugar (ground fine)
• For garnishing:
• Rose petals

Method:

  1. Make fresh cottage cheese from milk by adding lemon juice or curd whey.
  2. Put in a muslin cloth, wash under cold water, squeeze dry and then mash immediately.
  3. Mash khoya separately and add to the cheese.
  4. Now add rose water, cardamom powder, chiraunji and sugar to the cheese and mix thoroughly till smooth.
  5. Shape into balls, flatten with hands and steam for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Garnish with rose petals.
