Ingredients:

• For chutney:
• Urad Dal – 3 tsp
• Fenugreek (methi) seeds – 1/4 tsp
• Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Pepper Corns – 5-6
• Red Chillies – 1-2
• Green chillies – 1-2
• Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
• Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp
• Fresh grated Coconut – 1 small cup
• Sugar – 1/2 tsp
• Salt (to taste)
• Hing (a pinch)
• Sour Curd – 2 -3 cups
• For seasoning:
• Oil – 2 tsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1tsp
• Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Red Chilli – 1 (split into two pieces)

Method:

  1. Roast urad dal, fenugreek, cumin, pepper corns, red chillies with a pinch of hing on medium flame till you get good aroma and dal becomes brown.
  2. Grind the above with coconut, haldi, salt, sugar, fresh coriander and green chillies to a chutney consistency.
  3. Take curd in a big bowl and beat till it blends. Then pour chutney and mix well.
  4. Season with mustard, cumin and red chillies, decorate with chopped fresh coriander.
  5. Serve with veg pulao, biriyani, any mixed rice.
