Ingredients:

• 4 medium – potato, boiled and peeled
• 1 tsp – ginger, grated
• 2 – green chillies, chopped
• 2 – tomatoes, chopped
• 2tsp – coriander leaves, chopped
• Spices:
• 1/2 tsp – asafetida
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/ tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – clarified butter(ghee) + 1/2 tsp
• Water as required

Method:

  1. Heat clarified butter and add asafoetida, cumin seeds and ginger and stir for a while.
  2. Add all spices and salt, maintain low flame.
  3. Now add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.
  4. Mix and cook till butter separates.
  5. Add smashed potatoes and few coriander leaves, toss well and press them gently with spatula.
  6. Pour 4 -5 cups of water and cook for 10-15 minutes till water blends with potatoes and butter comes out.
  7. Add chopped coriander and 1/2 tsp clarified butter .
  8. Serve hot.
