Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Channa dal
• 1/2 cup – Peanuts
• 1 pinch – Hing
• 2 pinches – Methi powder (fenugreek)
• 8 – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – Coconut powder
• 1 tsp – oil
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp – Tamarind paste
• 1/2 cup – water

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add hing, methi powder, green chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Add channa dal, peanuts and fry until the channa dal browns.
  5. Add coconut powder and fry for 30 seconds.
  6. Cool and grind with salt, tamarind and water.
  7. Serve with dosas or idlis.
