Ingredients:

• Karamani-1/2 cup
• Rice Flour-2 tsp
• Coconut Pieces-4 tsp
• Red Chillies-3
• Salt-to taste
• Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
• Curry Leaves-a sprig
• Oil-to deep fry

Method:

  1. Soak karamani in water for 4 hours.
  2. Strain and place it in a blender with red chillies, salt and asafoetida.
  3. Grind well and then add coconut pieces and curry leaves. Mix well into a fine paste.
  4. Heat oil and make lemon-sized vadas with the vada mixture.
  5. Drop in the small bondas in hot oil. Fry till golden brown. Serve with coconut chutney.
