Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg- black gram (urad dal) dal
• 1 bunch- amarantha leaves
• 1 cup, minced- Onion
• 3 to 4- green chilies, minced
• salt to taste
Method:
- Wash and soak dal in water for 1 hour.
- Chop the greens finely.
- Drain the dal from water and grind to a fine paste with salt, adding minimum amount of water. (the batter should be stiff)
- Add green chilies and greens to the batter.
- With moist hand, take a lump of batter and place on a piece of plastic sheet.
- Flatten to a disc and make a hole in the center with your fore finger.
- Slip it into hot oil. Add few more wadas to oil and fry till golden brown.
- Use all the batter thus. Serve hot with dal chutney.
