Ingredients:

• 1 cup – masoor dal
• 1 – onion, chopped fine
• 2 – tomato, chopped fine
• 1 tsp – Ginger Garlic paste
• 3 – 4 – green chillies, chopped fine
• 1 tbsp – oil or Ghee
• 1 tsp – rai
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• coriander leaves, chopped for garnishing
• salt

Method:

  1. Soak masoor dal for half hour.
  2. Take oil or ghee in a cooker, add rai and cumin seeds and splutter.
  3. Add turmeric powder and fry onions till it turns pink.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and chillies and fry till it turns brown.
  5. Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes mashed.
  6. Add the dal and close the cooker and cook for one whistle.
  7. Open and garnish with coriander leaves and have with chapatti as a side dish.
