?Khamira ?means fermented. Khamiri roti is made by using yeast (khamir) and therefore is very soft to eat and thick in size. Khamiri roti is Mughlai roti which taste best with the moghlai food, curries like dal makhni and non-vegetarian food dish. Khamiri roti is a flatbread made from wheat flour. Let’s make this khamiri roti at home.

Ingredients

– 200 gm sieved wheat flour
– 1 teaspoon fresh yeast
– ? teaspoon sugar
– ? teaspoon ajwain
– ? cup warm milk for yeast
– Ghee or butter as required
– Salt to taste

How To Make?

1. First of all, add flour in a bowl and add salt and ajwain to it.
2. Now, dissolve the yeast in warm water in which sugar is added. Leave it rise for 10 minutes.
3. After that make bay in the flour, pour the dissolved yeast in it and knead the dough with warm water.
4. Then cover the dough with a damp cloth and keep aside for half an hour in a warm place to rise.
5. After half an hour take dough and divide it into equal-sized balls.
6. Now, roll out each balls into a round chapati.
7. Then cook it in a hot tandoor or bake in a greased baking tray in a hot oven till brown.
8. When it is cooked apply butter or ghee and serve hot.
