Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Raw Rice
• 1/2 cup – Green gram dhal (whole)
• 4 – Red Chillies
• Asafoetida – A pinch
• 1/2 cup – Grated Coconut
• Curry leaves, a few
• 4 tsp – Oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Fry the rice and green gram dhal separately in a kadai without any oil, till they turn light brown in colour.
- In a pressure cooker, add the fried rice and dhal and four cups of water along with salt.
- Pressure cook up to 2-3 whistles.
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
- Add asafoetida along with red chillies, curry leaves.
- Add the cooked rice and dhal mix into the kadai and then add grated coconut and saute for a minute.
- Serve hot.
