Ingredients:

• 1 big – Raw Mango
• 2 tbsp – salt
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 3/4 cup – Jaggery
• 1/2 tsp – roasted cumin
• 1/2 tsp – roasted mustard

Method:

  1. Cut the raw mango into small pieces and add salt to it.
  2. Keep this in a ceramic/glass bowl for one full day.
  3. The next day, take a thick bottom vessel.
  4. Put the mango pieces along with salty water and jaggery into the vessel.
  5. Start boiling it.
  6. Add red chilli powder, cumin and mustard powder to it.
  7. Keep boiling till the colour of the mango changes and becomes tender.
  8. Cool it and transfer it into a glass jar.
  9. This makes a tasty pickle for children.
  10. The shelf life is around one month.
