Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Rice flour
• 1/2 cup – All-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup – Wheat flour
• 1/2 cup – Roasted gram flour/pottukadalai maavu
• 1/2 cup – Desiccated Coconut or copra
• 1/4 tsp – Asafetida powder
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• Salt
• 1 tsp – Chilli powder
• Oil for frying
Method:
- Dry roast the desiccated coconut and grind to a fine powder.
- Dry roast both the all-purpose flour and wheat flour on low flame until they turn light golden brown.
- Put the flour, coconut powder, asafoetida powder, ghee, salt and chilli powder in a large bowl.
- Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough.
- Take a small ball from the dough and roll into a log.
- Join both the ends to form a ring.
- Continue the process until the dough is finished.
- Heat oil for frying on medium flame.
- Gently drop the rolled kodubale into the oil, and fry them in small batches until well fried.
- Drain the excess oil with a paper towel and store in an air-tight box.
