Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Kollu (Horse Gram)
• 2 tbsp – Toor Dal
• 1/4 tsp – Oil
• 2 – Dry Red Chilli
• 1 tsp – Black pepper
• 2 – Pods (Optional) Garlic
• 1 pinch- Asafetida
• Sesame oil- 1 tsp
• Salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and roast the horse gram. Add the kollu and toor dal to it and roast it.
  2. Keep aside.
  3. Now roast the red chillies, garlic, black pepper, asafoetida on a medium flame. Add salt and remove.
  4. Now combine the roasted kollu and spice mixture. Let it cool and then grind it in a mixer until fine.
  5. Cool the podi for 15 mins by spreading it on a plate.
  6. Now store it in a dry container.
  7. Mix with rice along with a few drops of sesame oil.
  8. Serve with rice/dosa/idli.
