Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – Rice
• 1/2 cup – moong dal
• 1/2 tbsp – Jeera powder
• 1/2 tbsp – coriander powder
• 8 flakes – garlic/lehsun
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 2 tsp – oil
• 2 tsp – salt or as per taste
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
Method:
- Soak rice and moong dal separately.
- Remove water and keep aside.
- Boil 3 cups of water in a vessel.
- Cut garlic flakes into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a small pressure cooker.
- Add garlic pieces and fry till light brown.
- Now, add asafetida, cumin and turmeric powder.
- Add soaked rice and fry for a while.
- Add moong dal and again stir fry.
- Now, add jeera powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt.
- Mix well.
- Add 3 cups of boiling water.
- Pressure cook for 4 – 5 min.
- You can add ghee to enhance taste once it is cooked.
