Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup Ghee or Olive oil
• 1 cup Lentils
• 4-6 Tomatoes or 1 can of whole Tomatoes
• 2 Onions, chopped
• 2 tbsps Ginger
• 3 Cloves Garlic
• 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric
• 1/4 tsp Salt
• 1/4 tsp black Pepper
• Pinch of Hing

Method:

  1. Boil the lentils separately.
  2. In a large pot, add seasonings and then fry the onions, ginger and garlic in the ghee or olive oil.
  3. Drain the lentils and add them to the pot.
  4. Add the tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes form a thick sauce.
  5. Serve over white or brown rice. (an apple chutney is good with it)
