Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup Ghee or Olive oil
• 1 cup Lentils
• 4-6 Tomatoes or 1 can of whole Tomatoes
• 2 Onions, chopped
• 2 tbsps Ginger
• 3 Cloves Garlic
• 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric
• 1/4 tsp Salt
• 1/4 tsp black Pepper
• Pinch of Hing
Method:
- Boil the lentils separately.
- In a large pot, add seasonings and then fry the onions, ginger and garlic in the ghee or olive oil.
- Drain the lentils and add them to the pot.
- Add the tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes form a thick sauce.
- Serve over white or brown rice. (an apple chutney is good with it)
