
Ingredients:
• For the stuffing:
• Grated Coconut – 2 cups
• Powdered Jaggery – 1 cup
• Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
• Ghee – 1 tsp
• For the dough:
• Maida flour – 1 cup
• Oil – A few tsps (to knead the dough)
• Oil – To deep fry
Method:
- Take a hard-bottom pan and heat the ghee in it.
- Then, add a little water to the pan, and when water boils, add the powdered jaggery.
- When the jaggery melts, immediately add the grated coconut and keep stirring constantly, while keeping the gas low.
- When the entire mixture turns into a solid – without sticking to the pan – switch off gas and add cardamom powder.
- Knead maida into a soft, stretchy dough with water and oil.
- Roll the dough into uniform balls.
- Keep a tsp of the stuffing inside each ball and deep fry the balls in oil till they turn brown.
