
Ingredients:
• Prawns – 1 lb
• Ginger – Garlic paste – 3 tsp
• Green chillies – 5
• Cumin powder – 1 tsp
• Onion – 1
• Tomatoes – 5
• Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
• Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
• Oil – 1/4 cup
• Salt to taste.
• For Pulau:
• Basmati Rice – 2.5 cups
• Cloves – 7 or 8
• Cinnamon powder – 3tsp
• Cardamom pods – 3
• Salt to taste
• Butter – 3 tsp
Method:
- Place a pan on fire, add half the quantity of oil and fry thinly sliced onions until golden brown and keep aside.
- Now add the ginger – garlic, green chilli paste and fry until the raw smell goes and then add the cleaned prawns and fry for 3-4 min.
- Add the cumin powder, chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cook on medium heat until they soften.
- Now put in grated coconut, coconut milk, salt, garam masala powder.
- Remove after 5 min and empty the gravy into a casserole and top it with parboiled rice.
- Garnish it with fried onions, finely chopped coriander and a few mint leaves (and water if needed).
- Cover with a lid, seal the sides with atta dough and cook on slow heat till rice is done.
- Serve.
