
Ingredients:
• 100 gm – whole masoor
• 1 tsp – Ginger paste
• 1/2 cup – coriander leaves, chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tbsp – plain flour
• 1/2 tsp – red chili powder
• 1 – onion, grated
• 1 – egg, beaten
• 1 cup – bread crumbs
• salt to taste
Method:
- Soak lentils for 2-3 hours.
- In a pan place lentils, onions and ginger.
- Add 1/2 cup water and boil till it is cooked (the lentils are softened between fingers under a light pressure).
- Add spices and mash. Allow to cool.
- Make round patties (kabab).
- Cover with beaten egg mixture then roll in bread crumbs.
- Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
- Decorate with finely chopped lettuce.
- Serve with tomato sauce or mint chutney.
