Ingredients:
• 2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 100 gms – Almonds
• 2 – Coconuts, fresh
• 6 tbsp – Ghee
• 440 gms – Jaggery
• 100 gms – Plums
• 1 kg – Rice, raw
• 2 tsp – Salt to taste
Method:
- Wash and soak the raw rice for 30 minutes.
- Then scrape and grind the 2 coconuts and extract 8 to 10 cups of juice.
- Now blanch and slice the almonds and wash the plums. Keep aside.
- Then grind the rice into a fine paste with a little coconut juice.
- Now remove and mix the ground rice with the remaining juice and jaggery and salt to taste, and blend into a thin batter.
- Then apply ghee to inner sides of a pan and pour the batter into it and boil stirring continually.
- When the batter thickens, add some more ghee and boil for 1 hour until it is sticky.
- Then add the plums, almonds and cardamom powder and stir.
- Now remove from fire and pour it into well greased plates and apply some ghee on the top and smoothen the surface with a knife.
- Let it cool.
- Now cut it into diamond or square shape pieces.
