Ingredients:
• Any type of vatral
• 1 tbsp – sambar powder
• 2 – Red Chilli
• A small Tamarind ball
• A few Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Corn flour
• salt to taste
• For seasoning:
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1/2 tsp – Channa dal
• Asafoetida
• 1 tbsp – cooking oil
Method:
- Add the tamarind ball in 1/4 cup of water in a microwave dish.
- Cover it with a lid and cook on medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Allow it to cool down to room temperature.
- Then extract tamarind juice from it.
- In a microwave dish, add cooking oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and channa dal, pieces of red chilli.
- Cover it and cook on ‘high’ for 2 minutes.
- As soon as it is over, add vatral, asafoetida and curry leaves.
- Add sambhar powder to it.
- Stir well.
- Cover it and cook on ‘medium’ for a minute.
- Then add tamarind juice and salt.
- Cover it and cook on ‘high’ for 4 minutes.
- Dissolve corn flour in 1 tsp of water and add it to kuzhambu.
- Stir well.
