Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Channa dal
• 1 cup – moong dal
• 1/2 cup – Arhar dal
• 2-3 – Onions
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 1 pinch – Asafoetida
• Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 inch – Turmeric powder
• Salt, to taste
• Oil

Method:

  1. Soak dals for 2-3 hours. Grind them coarsely. Add salt and a pinch of turmeric.
  2. Meanwhile cut onions into small pieces.
  3. Put a kadhai on stove add 5 tsps of oil and add asafoetida.
  4. Add mustard seeds, when they crackle, add urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves.
  5. Add onions and fry till golden brown.
  6. Add the ground dal paste.
  7. Keep in medium flame and stir occasionally.
  8. Add oil if needed.
  9. Fry till light brown.
  10. Goes well with rice.
