Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Channa dal
• 1 cup – moong dal
• 1/2 cup – Arhar dal
• 2-3 – Onions
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 1 pinch – Asafoetida
• Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 inch – Turmeric powder
• Salt, to taste
• Oil
Method:
- Soak dals for 2-3 hours. Grind them coarsely. Add salt and a pinch of turmeric.
- Meanwhile cut onions into small pieces.
- Put a kadhai on stove add 5 tsps of oil and add asafoetida.
- Add mustard seeds, when they crackle, add urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves.
- Add onions and fry till golden brown.
- Add the ground dal paste.
- Keep in medium flame and stir occasionally.
- Add oil if needed.
- Fry till light brown.
- Goes well with rice.
