
Ingredients:
• 2 litres – Milk
• 1/2 cup – Rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 10 to 15 strands – Saffron, crushed, soaked in 1 tsp warm Milk
• 10 – Almonds
• 10 – Unsalted Pistachios
• 1 – Peeled Apple
• 5 to 6 – Seedless Grapes cut into pieces
• 1 – Peeled Orange
• 6 to 7 – Dates soaked in water and cut into pieces
Method:
- Crush almonds and pistachios coarsely and keep aside.
- Boil rice in plenty of water till half done.
- Drain and spread on a plate, to cool the grains.
- Heat milk, bring to a boil.
- Add rice, stirring continuously till boiling resumes.
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, to keep rice from sticking to bottom.
- Allow rice to cook fully, but don’t let it get mushy.
- Add sugar, cardamom, saffron, almonds and pistachios.
- Stir, let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Mix all the fruits. Cool it. Chill and serve.
